What Makes Speech Hard to Transcribe

Difficulty comes from the recording, not from the topic. A single speaker in a quiet room with a decent microphone produces text close to publishable. Add background music, a second person talking over the first, a strong regional accent, or a speaker who moves away from the microphone and the errors multiply.
